Does Flodesk Integrate with WordPress?

The quick answer is yes. Flodesk does integrate with WordPress.

To get started with Flodesk pop-up and inline forms on WordPress, there are two main codes to know about:

  1. Header Code – This needs to go into your website’s header for forms to function correctly.
  2. Inline Code – For inline forms, this is the code you place wherever you want the form to appear on your site.

1. Create Your Opt-in Form in Flodesk

  1. First, log in to Flodesk and hit “Create Form.”
  2. Pick the form type—Inline, Pop-up, or Full Page—and decide which audience segment(s) your new subscribers will join. Then, customize the form to fit your brand’s style.
    • Pop-up forms appear suddenly to grab your visitor’s attention, usually after a certain action or delay.
    • Inline forms are embedded right within the content of your site—like a blog post or footer—so they look like a natural part of the page.
    • Full Page forms are, as you might guess, forms that take up their own entire page, almost like a dedicated landing page for sign-ups. If you’re opting for the full page form, you can skip ahead to step 4 since it doesn’t require any embedding codes!
  3. Choose double opt-in (optional): If you need extra security to prevent spam or meet legal requirements, you can enable double opt-in. Just keep in mind it might lead to fewer sign-ups, so use it only if necessary!

2. Add the Header Code (for Pop-up & Inline Forms)

Now, for inline and pop-up forms to work properly, you’ll need to add a header code to your website.

The easiest way to do this? Use the Headers and Footers Plugin:

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Go to Plugins > Add New, and type in “Headers and Footers”.
  3. Click “Install” and then “Activate”.
  4. After activating, head to Settings > Insert Headers and Footers.
  5. Paste that header code from Flodesk into the “Scripts in Header” section and hit Save.

That’s it—no coding skills needed! If you use Divi, you can add the header code under Divi > Theme Options > Integration to make it work.

3. Add the Inline Embed Code (For Inline Forms Only)

Now that you’ve added the header code, there’s just one more step for inline and forms—adding the inline embed code.

Here’s how:

  1. Once your form is customized in Flodesk, click “Publish” to grab the inline HTML code.
  2. Depending on what you’re working with:
    • If you’re using a block editor like Elementor, Gutenberg, or Divi: Just add an HTML block or code block wherever you want your form to show up, then paste in that inline code.
    • If you’re using the Classic Editor: Switch over to the “Text” editor and paste the inline code wherever you want it to appear.

Remember: Both the header code and inline code need to be added for inline forms to work correctly!

4. Adding a Full-Page Form

Got a full page form? Lucky you—this one’s even simpler. Instead of embedding any code, Flodesk gives you a link for your form. Just use that link wherever you like—whether it’s from your website, social media, or email—it’s a super easy way to get sign-ups.

How to Make Signing Up to Your Newsletter More Appealing

Your forms are live—awesome. Now, let’s make them work even harder. In addition to the standard form options mentioned above, Flodesk has some creative, interactive forms that can really boost your opt-in rates.

  • Link in Bio Forms: These are perfect for capturing social media traffic. It’s like a mini landing page with all your key links—and a sign-up form to boot.
  • Video Forms: Want to connect on a deeper level before someone signs up? Add a video to your form! Whether it’s a quick “hello,” a product demo, or a story about your business, a video form is way more personal and inviting.
  • Spinner Forms: Turn sign-ups into a game. The Spinner form lets people spin for a prize or discount, adding a bit of excitement. It’s perfect for promotions and special events when you want to command extra attention.

Some Tips for Making Flodesk Forms More Engaging

Forms are more than just sign-up boxes—they’re a way to welcome people into your world. Here’s how to make sure they do just that:

1. Keep it Simple

The less you ask for, the more likely someone is to sign up. Usually, you just need a name and an email address. Keep the form clean and visually appealing. Consider using inline code to style your forms—this helps maintain a consistent look that’s easy to tweak without major changes.

2. Write Compelling Copy

Form copy should be short and to the point — but you’ve still got to make it interesting. Insert headers and conversion-driven content that lets users know why they should sign up. So instead of “Sign Up for Our Newsletter,” try something like “Get Weekly Tips to Grow Your Business.”

3. Offer Something in Return

People are way more likely to give you their email if they’re getting something valuable in return. Think free guides, exclusive discounts, or checklists. Spinner forms are a great option for this!

4. Make Your CTA Stand Out

Use active language for your CTA button, like “Get My Free Guide”, instead of something boring like “Submit.” And make sure the button color contrasts with the rest of the form.

5. Think About Placement

Pop-up forms can be great for getting attention, but if they pop too soon? That’s just annoying. Inline forms on a website page, blog post, or slide-ins that show up after scrolling are less intrusive and can be just as effective.

6. Make Forms Mobile-Friendly

Most people are browsing on their phones these days, so make sure your forms look great on mobile. Flodesk forms are automatically mobile-responsive, but you can use a block editor like Elementor to make sure everything looks perfect.

7. Test & Optimize

Use Flodesk Analytics to see what’s working and what isn’t. Play around with different headlines, colors, and placements to find the sweet spot!

How to Set Up Automated Email Marketing with Flodesk

Flodesk’s automation features make sending out newsletters ridiculously easy. Here’s how to get your automated email marketing up and running:

1. Set Up a Workflow

Head to the “Workflows” section in Flodesk and click “Create New Workflow.” You can either use a pre-built workflow or start from scratch—it’s up to you.

2. Connect it to Your Opt-In Form

To connect the workflow to your opt-in form, add a trigger. This tells the workflow to start when someone joins a specific audience segment. Just choose the segment(s) you selected for your form, so anyone who signs up will automatically enter your email sequence.

3. Personalize Your Email Sequence

Whether it’s a welcome email, a quick intro, or a valuable resource, Flodesk makes customizing your email sequence straightforward. Personalize it, adjust the timing, and make sure each email delivers something your subscribers actually want.
